In vitro anticancer activity of Astaxanthin

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study was designed to determine the in vitro anticancer potential of Astaxanthin isolated from shrimp shell waste (ETC) against Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma (EAC) induced cancer swiss albino mice. The activity assessed using cytotoxicAity, mean survival time, tumor volume and hematological studies. reliable criteria for evaluating any agent is prolongation lifespan animal decrease WBC count blood. high dose ETC (200 mg/kg, orally) significantly reduced growth which demonstrated by increased mice restoration parameters. also found be cytotoxic parameter shows that possesses significant potential.

In-vitro Study of Photothermal Anticancer Activity of Carboxylated Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes

Background and Objective: Multi-walled Carbon Nano Tubes (MWCNTs) as an important element of nanosciences have a remarkable absorption in the region of NIR window (650-900 nm) which can overcome the limitations of deep treatment in photothermal therapy. To disperse MWCNTs in water, it is proposed to attach carboxylated functional group (-COOH) to MWCNTs in order to increase dispersivity in wate...

Anticancer Activity of Nanoparticles Based on PLGA and its Co-polymer: In-vitro Evaluation

Attempts have been made to prepare nanoparticles based on poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and doxorubicin. Biological evaluation and physio-chemical characterizations were performed to elucidate the effects of initial drug loading and polymer composition on nanoparticle properties and its antitumor activity. PLGA nanoparticles were formulated by sonication method. Lactide/glycolide ratio ...
